Here you’ll find updates from me – Ellie (Tom’s Daughter) – on all things Little Wold Vineyard! I’ve worked on the farm in some form since 2016, from bartending to planting vines, I’ve pretty much done it all. After four years at university, I’m back to working full-time and thought it might be nice to share what it is we get up to. There’ll be weekly updates, educational pieces, and seasonal fun stuff to keep you (hopefully) entertained.

Someone kindly reminded me that Christmas is two weeks away as I was writing up this week’s blog post. Now, while I am on top of all my Christmas presents, the idea that in two weeks’ time I won’t be able to freely watch Home Alone on repeat, or have easy access to festive foods, does fill me with a kind of sadness I can’t really compare to anything else. Fortunately, for now, there’s plenty of seasonal cheer going around at LWV, thanks to some wonderful events we’ve been to this week.

Another week goes by, and what a cold week it has been. While it certainly makes work at LWV a bit more of a challenge (frozen pipes, frozen fingers, leave anything on our hills for long enough and it will most definitely freeze over) there’s still plenty that needs to be done, wine to deliver and events to hold, so there’s no slowing down even with this slight meteorological mishap.

Hello!

It all feels a little formal, but we suppose proper introductions are important (even if you’d normally be saying hello to us from across a field). Through the Grapevine is going to be a space where we can update you with the goings on at LWV! Once a week you can read all about what Alice, Tom, Henry and the rest of the team are doing in the vineyards, the winery and the Tasting Room. Now that I’ve explained what this space is, let’s start talking about the stuff you actually want to read about.
